In the current era of generative artificial intelligence, the world is experiencing an unprecedented change. This technological revolution is transforming our lives and the way work evolves. Large companies announce that many tasks can be automated and that it is appropriate to restructure their workforces. It is in this context that we must generate a debate around the ethical and educational concerns that arise, and whether we are on the right path for work to be readapted at the right pace that this new generation of advanced tools requires.

Technohumanism, as a movement, recognizes the power and potential of digital technology and artificial intelligence to improve our lives and create a better world. At the same time, however, it is aware of the need for a normative ethics to guide the development and implementation of these technologies so that they serve people and not the other way around. This talk seeks to explore how Technohumanism can provide a useful framework for facing educational challenges in a constantly evolving and accelerating digital ecosystem, and to ensure that our societies can make the most of the opportunities offered by generative artificial intelligence, while minimizing the risks and preserving fundamental human values.

  • Pedro Mujica introduced the concept of generative artificial intelligence, highlighting the need to unite technology with the humanities.
  • He discussed the importance of integrating sociologists, anthropologists and philosophers into technology teams to create a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Mujica described generative artificial intelligence as the creation of completely new content, without copying existing material.
  • He emphasized the responsibility of technologists to explain concepts, offer hope and act socially to guarantee a positive future. He also highlighted the need for regulation and ethical considerations.
  • And above all he highlighted the accelerated pace of technological advances and the overwhelming number of generative artificial intelligence applications, which generates fear and confusion in society.

The talk was fully recorded and uploaded to YouTube. In a relaxed, approachable tone, Pedro Mujica made the assembled community of CTOs reflect on the importance of re-educating people, who are the main asset of our current society, so that they adopt these tools as soon as possible and see them for what they are, powerful tools that should empower us.
